How do I prepare for my spray tan?
For best results, it's recommended that you should shower and exfoliate before your spray tan.
Exfoliating will help remove any dead skin cells and help prolong your tan. If you shave or wax,
this should also be done, as well. Do not apply deodorants, moisturizers or make up before
getting sprayed, as these can act as a barrier to the tanning solution. Regarding clothing, it's
best to wear dark, loose-fitting clothes to your appointment.
How long will my appointment take?
The actual spraying process lasts only about 5 minutes. The technician will show you step-by-
step all the different positions to stand in as you are sprayed your new bronze color. The spray
will feel like a cool mist and you will see immediate color appearing on your skin. We ask that
you allow 30 minutes for your appointment so that your technician can explain the process and
answer any questions you might have, as well as go over post-care instructions once your
spray has been completed.
What should I wear for my spray tan?
You can wear as much or as little as you like, as you are in a private room for your spray tan.
Women are welcome to go topless or nude if they like, but men are asked to wear bottoms,
such as dark swimming trunks. For women who feel more comfortable wearing something,
we suggest a dark bikini or dark bra and underwear. For your convenience, we also have
complimentary disposable underwear available for both men and women.
How long will my spray tan last?
Your body is constantly 'sloughing off' dead skin cells. Spray tanning only affects the outer
skin layer, so as your skin cells are naturally shed, the spray tan will fade. Depending on a
person's activities and skin type, typically one's spray tan will last around 5 to 8 days (some-
times longer), and the more moisturized you keep your skin, the longer you can maintain your
spray tan. However, we cannot offer a guarantee, as everyone's skin is different.
What special care should I take after my spray tan?
· Your tan will continue to develop over several hours following your appointment. Do
not shower for at least 8 hours as this can remove some of the tan before it has
had a chance to develop. Avoid exercising or heavy sweating for the rest of the day.
· When you do first shower, you may notice some brown staining in the water. Do not
panic! This is only the color guide that was applied - it's not the spray tan itself washing
off.
· Take showers instead of soaking in hot baths, as bathing encourages the sloughing of
dead skin cells and will hasten the fading of your tan. Hot tubs should also be avoided.
For best results, pat dry after showering.
· Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize. Applying a moisturizer each and every day is key
to prolonging the life of your spray tan.
